What to bring

Since I’m both going through Latin America and climbing Kilimanjaro, it’s a bit of a challenge to pack, as these adventures are to be considered as two very different trips. Consequently, very different gear are required. Needless to say, a lot of warm clothes are required when trekking Kilimanjaro, whereas traveling through Latin America calls for lighter equipment as most countries are fairly warm and pleasant. My take on this challenge has been trying to find very small items that can be reused often. I will also rely on renting e.g. a sleeping bag (for the Inca trail in Peru and Kilimanjaro) and warm fleece jumpers (I might buy one in Peru). I have tried to pack light clothing that will keep me warm such as wool underwear, while I’m planning on buying “summer wear” such as t-shirts, shorts and so on while travelling. I’ve done my best and the items listed below are the ones I chose to bring on this journey:

  1. Looks like you got thing under control before departure :) I can see that you brought the clothes line, do tell if you ever get to use it! I travelled 6 months without even touching it…

  2. hahaha, I hear you buddy! It doesn´t take up too much space in the luggage and I might just throw it away, but maybe, just maybe it will come in handy.. ;) you never know mate – will let you know
